Main Themes of class work for week beginning: 10th July 2017
Class 2’s Weekly Homework
Week Ending 07/07/2017:
Welcome back to you all! We hope that you all enjoyed a happy and restful Easter break and I am sure you will join us in looking forward to some warmer weather this term. The teaching and support staff for year 2 is the same as last term: Mrs. Towler Brown teaching Monday to Wednesday, Mrs. Lombardi teaching Thursday and Friday, Mr. Sharman teaching one of the Physical Education lessons, Mrs. Henville, Mr Henville and Miss Brown supporting the children in class.
Please see the attached overview for details of what we will be learning this term. As in previous terms we have also included a list of useful topic spellings for your child to learn as they will be required to use these words in their schoolwork.
Later this half term the children will be completing the National Year 2 tests in reading and maths. The children are still young and it is school policy to approach these assessments in a low-key manner. We would ask parents for support in this as we feel that children are more likely to achieve their potential when they are happily engaged in tasks in a calm and positive environment. We will be sharing your child’s results with you as part of their end of year report.
Could you please ensure that your child has a complete PE kit in school at all times. It is important that the children wear shorts in gymnastics and not long trousers, such as jogging bottoms, as this could pose safety issues when working on apparatus. If your child has hair long enough to be tied back could you also include a hair band in their kit. Thank you.
We are really looking forward to a happy, successful and sunny term in Class 2 and hope the children are too! If at any time you have any concerns or issues you would like to discuss then please feel free to come and see us, after school is generally the best time.
